Metallic Falcons
Metallic Falcons is a side-band of CocoRosie's Sierra Cassidy and Matteah Baim (Voodoo-EROS Records) and put quite simply, their creepy. Creepy in a since that makes their sound incredibly soft and soothing, but send quivering tingles down your spine. Desert Doughnuts, released last year, is the band's only release so far and it reels in a whole heap of guest appearances from none other Antony (Antony And The Johnsons fame), Greg Rogrove (Tarantula A.D.), Jana Hunter, and of course Devendra Banahart. Best described as soft metal, Desert Doughnuts is an emotional ride with brilliant almost saint-like melodies, drums that kick with every heartbeat, and samples of a sea-like breeze running through the background. We all thought CocoRosie was creepy, well you haven't heard nothing yet.
